Id double check to make sure its either 7mm Mauser or 7.62 Nato quite a bit were converted farmdawg13 3 yr. 308 (don't have a rifle press yet), When I get the equipment, I will start to taylor my own rounds for it, I believe you will like the gun, I enjoy the heck out of mine for the same reasons you mentioned in your OP. Since the serial number starts with OT its a 1916 spanish Mauser. I shoot factory ammo in mine, and have for years with no noticable damage or wear, but I don't as yet, reload. What I mean is, The pressure measurements I have found are listed as follows: (7.62x51 nato= cup.308win.= psi) they appearantly do not correlate, and some will tell you there is not much real difference and others will say that they are very different, I have talked (thru E-mail) with a man that runs a website, dedicated to this very rifle, and he tells me that he is not sure enough to run factory rounds thru his with any confidence.īut don't let me sway your dilligence, if you CAN find more firm information on the subject, PLEASE post it here so I can read it. The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number, two proofs. The one thing that I can tell you after many years of experience with this question, Is, The more reading you do, the more questions you will have.
